Classical Ballet of Colorado (CBC), under the direction of Elizabeth Shipiatsky and Maria Tyukova, trains students in ballet technique, character dance, classical variations, repertoire, pas de deux, and proper stretching. The aim of CBC is to produce dancers who possess a strong, clean, classical technique with great emphasis on artistry, musicality, purity of line, coordination and a quality of movement that is free of mannerisms.
CBC is a non-competitive studio. However, some of our students participate in both Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) and Denver Ballet Guild each year for the benefits of performance experience, scholarships and contracts. CBC students have been honored with high awards at YAGP: Grand Prix, 1st place positions and more. In addition, CBC has received both Outstanding Studio and Outstanding Teacher awards from YAGP.
CBC students are technically strong and artistically advanced. Most of our experienced students have been accepted into such prestigious schools as Boston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Sacramento Ballet, Arizona Ballet, Houston Ballet, Kirov Ballet (Washington D.C.), School of American Ballet, Bolshoi Summer Intensive (New York and Connecticut), Bolshoi Academy (Moscow, Russia), Vaganova Ballet Academy (Saint Petersburg, Russia), and American Ballet Theatre.
Drawing students from Denver, Aurora, Castle Rock, Parker, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Englewood, Arvada, Westminster, Lakewood, Northglenn, Broomfield, Boulder and Fort Collins.
